Congratulations

Within the space of a few short days, Britain won the Olympic dressage team gold and the Olympic individual freestyle gold in London; and the world breeding championship gold for six year olds in Verden!

British dressage has truly arrived!  We were in Verden last week to see the fabulous Woodlander Farouche follow up her championship win as a five year in 2011, with an even more convincing win and a record breaking score.

British bred, British trained and British ridden - this must be our goal!  Famous licensed stallions, with whom she was competing, looked plain by comparison - and therein lies the dilemma.  If Farouche sets the standard - which she does - and the breeding stallions look stuffy and wooden by comparison - who should we breed from?  If only Farouche were a stallion!!

Our own mare Dalloway competed valiantly, despite looking very tired on the hottest day of the competition, but was unfortunately not in the 'medals'.  Still it was a great honour to have been invited into this august company; it affirms her quality and it was a great experience to have taken part.

However the biggest question playing on my mind following this trip, and with the image of Farouche so clearly emblazoned on my mind, is which stallion to select for her for 2013!
